Full Home Security Upgrade Following a Recent Break-In

After a recent break-in at a property in Menston, Leeds, LS29, the customer contacted Zone CCTV & Burglar Alarms to review the security of their home and put a stronger, more proactive security system in place.
Understandably, the customer wanted reassurance that the property would be better protected moving forward. We were quick to arrange a site survey, review how the incident had happened and provide practical advice on how to reduce the risk of anything similar happening again.

The main focus of this installation was prevention. Rather than simply recording footage after an incident, the system was designed to detect a person approaching the property, warn them that they had been seen, alert the customer, and allow a 24/7 monitoring station to review the activation and take the next steps where required.

Hikvision Generation 3 LiveGuard CCTV Cameras

We upgraded the property with Hikvision Generation 3 LiveGuard turret cameras. These cameras are a fantastic option for customers who want their CCTV system to do more than just record.
The cameras can detect a person entering a set area around the property. When a person is detected, the cameras can trigger a visual warning using the built-in flashing lights. This gives an immediate deterrent and lets the person know the property is protected by an active CCTV system.
The customer can also receive alerts directly to their mobile phone, allowing them to view the cameras remotely and check what is happening at the property in real time.

PTZ Cameras with Wide Angle Lenses and Human Tracking

As part of the upgrade, our engineers installed two large PTZ cameras with wide angle lenses and human tracking.
These cameras give excellent coverage of key areas around the property. The wide angle lens helps provide a broader view, while the PTZ function allows the camera to move and follow activity. Human tracking is a great feature for larger properties, driveways and gardens, as it helps keep a person in view once detected.
Used alongside the fixed LiveGuard cameras, the PTZ cameras give the customer a much more complete view of the property.Using the accompanying app, the customer can even remotely trigger the strobe light and the built-in siren. This will definitely put somebody off should they be snooping around the property. If the customer is out in the garden the notifications can easily be silenced through the app.

3 Star Anti-Snap Lock Upgrades

As part of the overall security improvements, the customer also upgraded their locks to 3 star anti-snap locks.
Upgrading locks is an important part of home security, especially after a break-in. 3 star anti-snap locks are designed to make forced entry much more difficult and help protect the most vulnerable entry points into the home.

Ajax Alarm System with External PIR Detection

To complement the CCTV system, we also installed an Ajax alarm system with external PIR sensors around the property.
The external PIR sensors are designed to detect movement around the home before anyone reaches the building. If a person is detected, the alarm can trigger immediately, activating the external sirens and alerting the customer through the mobile phone app.
This gives the customer another layer of protection and creates a strong deterrent before an intruder has the chance to cause further damage.
